Phil & Teds Explorer - Red [pat-explo-sngl-red]

The all new Phil & Teds Explorer pushchair!

As a direct replacement for the Phil and Teds Sport pushchair, the Phil and Teds Explorer goes one step further than its sibling did - in every direction!

Rather than a two-handed release, the Phil and Teds Explorer uses a simple pull & slide to release action which really does make the pushchair fast to fold with only one hand. The hood of the Explorer features a 'follow-the-sun' sunhood which gives a much large coverage area with full adjustment and a flip out sun visor.

The old style 'wire' brake on the Sport was good, and did the job, but the new Explorer brake is now a 'pedal' style meaning it is a lot easier to apply the brake and to also take the brake off too without a fuss, or making a scene.

The seat design has been tweaked as well to improve ventilation and the overall contour of the seat. The recline can be performed with one hand now, and the positions of the recline are infinite now via the quick adjust harness system. The liners of the seat help to give the pushchair its unique character and style too. The seat liners are available in the colours of Red, Navy, Black and Green.

Whereas the Sport used to have a standard double kit, the Phil and Teds Explorer has a Supreme Inline Double Kit which includes a sunhood and also allows for interchangable seat liners too. Moving to the other end of the pushchair the new plastic footwell is not only easy to clean, it is also much more hardwearing than the preious fabric version.

So what about the modes, or positions that this pushchiar can turn into? Well here they are, all 7 options...

1. Lie Flat using a cocoon for newborn babies
2. Lie flat but using the Peanut as a hard shell carrycot.
3. Combine the Explorer with a car seat to convert into a travel system.
4. For toddlers, the Explorer can be used by itself as a standard single pushchair
5. For newborn and toddler simply use the car seat mode (in mode '3') and use it with the double kit too for toddler
6. Pop the double kit on the front and use the Cocoon for the newborn in the lie-flat position.
7. In the standard pushchair position simply add the double kit on to allow for two toddlers.

Of course, in case you were wondering, the Phil and Teds Explorer has all the EN1888:2005 European Safety Certifications as you would expect it to. Overall, the pushchair can be used from newborn up to 6 years of age, and it features a 5 point safety hareness to provide further peace of mind. The pushchair itself is considered to be 'wipe clean' but it should also be noted that with washable liners you will be able to keep your pushchair in 'almost-new' condition for as long as possible!

The weight of the pushchair is 14kg (or 31lbs) and the width of 62cm (24") means it really is an inline pushchair. Folded, with the wheels off the dimensions are 762 X 508 X 228mm (or 30 X 20 X 9 inches). The main seat can handle a load up to 20kg (or 44lbs) and with the double kit attached the maximum load on the front seat can be 20kg (or 44lbs) and a maximum load on the rear of the pushchair is 15kg (or 33lbs).

The Phil and Teds Explorer pushchair is available in the colours of Black, Red, Apple and Navy. This is the Red.
